Cheer and
Competitive Teams
Competitive Teams
"The
Hawks" first competitive squad
started in October 2002 with selected members of the senior cheer squad.
Over the past few years we have added 3 more competitive teams.
To be eligible for
the Junior and Senior competitive squads, you must also be a member one
of the cheer squad and be chosen by our coaches.
To be eligible for
the Mini and Primary squads, you must have a desire to learn a routine
and have lots of fun.
These dedicated young ladies meet 1 -
2 times a week to practice competitive routines, power lifts, pyramids
and tumbling – all of which requires a combination of strength,
flexibility and timing.
Members of the "The
Hawks" competitive teams range in age from 4 to 18 or Grades SK to 12.
Some members of the squad have been performing for years with extensive
dance and/or gymnastics backgrounds and some come to the squad with no
training at all, but have the gift of showmanship and the ability to
learn.
